Frequently Asked Questions
What type of grass is right for my lawn?
Choosing the right type of grass for your lawn involves taking a look at many factors: general climate, sunlight, soil condition, property grade and drainage, use of the lawn (pets and/or kids) and methods of irrigation. At CFP Sod, we can review these factors, discuss how they will affect your new lawn, and offer solutions best suited to your needs.
What is your process for new lawns?
Preparing and conditioning the environment for your new lawn will ensure that it gets a healthy start. CFP Sod can recommend the proper steps for your budget and needs. We evaluate your unique situation and prepare an appropriate turf recommendation and installation plan.
What is the best time of the year to install a new lawn?
The advantage of installing sod is that it can be installed almost anytime during the year except for winter. Ideally, sod is laid in the cool months of spring or fall when less irrigation is required. The goal is to quickly establish the root system in order to decrease the risk of disease in the new lawn. While the hot summer months may not be ideal, CFP Sod can recommend the proper procedure for the hotter months of the year.
